Corneal transplants involve replacing a damaged or diseased cornea with donated tissue to restore or improve a patient’s vision. DSAEK/DMEK

Both DSAEK and DMEK transplantation procedures involve replacing only the innermost layers of corneal tissue, instead of the whole thickness of the cornea. This means a smaller incision, a faster visual recovery and a reduced risk of complications.

DALK

DALK involves replacing the outer layers of corneal tissue, preserving the innermost corneal layers thus decreasing the risk of donor tissue rejection and/or other eye complications.

Femtosecond Laser Assisted Penetrating Keratoplasty

This is a full-thickness corneal transplant that utilizes the three-dimensional sculpting characteristics of the Femtosecond Laser, allowing for customized grafts that result in safer and more predictable post-operative results.

Corneal Ring Segments

Corneal ring segments are implanted into the corneal tissue to reshape the curvature of the cornea in cases of keratoconus and ectasia for the purpose of improving eyeglass prescription and contact lens tolerance. A Femtosecond Laser is used to sculpt customized corneal channels to allow for implantation.

Corneal Cross Linking

Corneal cross linking involves applying vitamin B2 to the cornea and then exposing it to ultraviolet light to activate a natural process that can potentially help slow the progression of keratoconus.
